Why Armenia
Yerevan is a walking city. Kentron, Cascade, Abovyan Street, Northern Avenue — the commerce density is high and pedestrian. Camera-first is a more natural primitive here than in sprawling US suburbs. Diaspora tourism in Dilijan, Tsaghkadzor, Sevan, Goris, Jermuk further extends the surface: a visitor walking past a winery in Areni should be able to purchase without navigating a menu.
Regulation — RA Consumer Rights + Personal Data Law
Camera-initiated transactions trigger the RA Consumer Rights Protection Law on purchase confirmation and right to return, and the RA Personal Data Protection Law (2015) on the image data itself. GeraLens processes frames locally where possible; any cloud processing is consent-scoped and deletable under RA law (and GDPR for diaspora users).

Armenian use cases
- Yerevan bakery walk-in — a tourist in Kentron scans a pastry shelf, pays in Idram without queuing at the register.
- Areni winery tour — a diaspora traveller scans a bottle label, purchases a case shipped to LA / Paris / Moscow, paid in USD / EUR / RUB and settled to the winery in AMD.
- Dilijan artisan market — camera-first purchase of a handmade item without needing to speak Armenian.
GeraLens vs. Google Lens / Apple Visual Lookup / Snap / Pinterest Lens
The Big Tech lenses are mostly informational ("what is this?"). GeraLens is transactional ("buy this"). Armenian-merchant coverage and AMD settlement are the differentiators in-country.
